Inner Peace Reduces Anxiety
1. Be good to yourself. This is not selfish. It’s the foundation for a more peaceful world.
2. Breathe. Deep, slow breathing creates an “alpha” state, which is an inwardly focused, relaxed, receptive awareness of reality. Allow the time daily for deep breathing and self-reflection.
3. Take care of your body. Move every day. Avoid alcohol, caffeine and junk food. Drink 1/4 your weight (pounds) in ounces of water daily. Always drink before eating, and never during meals. Choose vibrant, fresh, organic foods.
4. Honor your emotions. Acknowledge them, allow them, name them. Express them in a way that is not harmful to yourself or others. For example, write a letter or sing your pain instead of consuming sugar, alcohol or other drugs.
5. Create fun, loving relationships. Avoid judgment.
6. You get what you think about most. Think positively. Release negative emotions. Feel gratitude. Make a list of 5 reasons you feel grateful, every morning. [Read more →]

Better Breast Self-Exam
December 6th, 2009
Regular breast self-exam may be safer and more effective than mammograms.
Breast awareness is critical to the all-important early detection of possible breast disease. Men get breast cancer also, and it’s not rare in men, although it is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women, after lung cancer. [Read more →]

Enhancing Fertility
September 17th, 2007
Q: I’m 40 and happily married. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years but no pregnancy yet. We’re pretty sure we don’t want to get into anything drastically high-tech or expensive but are certainly open to natural fertility enhancement. Any ideas?

Osteoporosis Update
September 17th, 2007
Loss of height of one inch or more may be an indicator of a vertebral fracture. That means one of the 29 “backbones” forming the spine might have a crack or be slightly crushed. These vertebral fractures are much more common than one would think and vertebral fracture is emerging as an important indicator of osteoporosis.

How A Man Can Help Their Female Partner Who Has A Bladder Infection
December 16th, 2001
Hey, Guys! You Can Help!
If you are a man who enjoys making love with women, you are likely to encounter a female bladder infection at some point. Here are a few hot tips to help ensure your continued popularity with your suffering lover.
- Please don’t pressure her for sex until she’s ready. This rule applies in any situation, by the way.
- Cleanliness is key. Please wash your genital area well daily, and, if you are uncircumcised, clean under the foreskin. Scrub your fingernails. Yes, that generally involves a nail-brush. Keep well-shaved (or keep the hair on your face clean) so as not to further irritate the labia and urethral tissues. Unfortunately for women, the urethra is precariously near the clitoris, which is generally best not avoided. Keep “high” when entertaining your lover with oral foreplay.
- Which leads to the request, similar to #1 above, to always make sure your partner is well lubricated before penetrating with fingers or other appendages.
- Your female companion is likely to pee more frequently than you do whether or not she has a bladder infection, so just go ahead and put the toilet seat down, even if it’s your house. This is a really hot tip.
- Think of ways to be super-helpful for a few days: Run to the pharmacy for her, even in the middle of the night. Give a little extra help with the kids, household, or shopping. Accompany her to the doctor if that becomes necessary.
- Help her stay hydrated; bring her juices and teas and make sure she has a tall glass of drinking water nearby at all times. Of course, this will mean she needs to pee more often, so please don’t pressure her to just wait until the next gas station or the end of the movie or whatever.

Prostate
September 22nd, 2001
Prostate problems are very common in men in the U.S. and generally present in one of three forms. These are separate conditions called “Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy,” “Prostatitis,” and “Prostate Cancer.” The conditions are listed here in order of increasing danger to the patient. The first condition, abbreviated BPH, generally comes on after about age 40, whereas prostate cancer is rare in younger men. However, almost all men who live to a ripe old age will have some degree of prostate cancer, detectable by autopsy. Men will quite often have no significant symptoms from either of these conditions, but it is very important to rule out cancer, which could spread to the bone and other vital organs. Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland, usually due to an infection, and should be treated so as to restore vitality to the sufferer. This brochure will introduce you to a variety of alternative medical approaches to treating these three problems. The types of treatment include physical medicine, botanical medicine, nutritional suggestions, acupuncture, homeopathy, color and gem therapy and psychospiritual methods. These suggestions are not intended to replace a visit to your holistic MD, naturopathic physician, acupuncturist, herbalist, or other licensed health care practitioner versed in alternative modalities. This brochure is intended to provide you with sound information in order to make an informed decision about how to treat your body, mind and spirit to achieve optimal health. [Read more →]
